I Kings 18:42b (KJV): "And Elijah went up to the top of Carmel; and he cast himself down upon the earth, and put his face between his knees."
I Kings 18:42b (NLT): "But Elijah climbed to the top of Mt. Carmel and fell to the ground and prayed." Thought: Come Out of the Drought, Get in Position, The Rain is Coming After calling for a drought that lasted for 3 1/2 years, the same Prophet Elijah that King Ahab called the “troubler of Israel” is the man of God who calls for the drought to end and the rains to start. The drought has caused Elijah to suffer as well. Elijah is now saying that it is time for the dry spell to be over. It is time for him to come out of the cave of dealing with his own guilts, fears, oppressions, depressions, and dealing with his own personal droughts, trying to hide from issues, matters, situations, circumstances, and threats from a wicked force, Queen Jezebel. Elijah initially ran to the cave in fear of a threat. There he was, in a place of physical oasis where God’s full power and presence was made evident in demonstration and manifestation on Mt. Carmel in the destruction of Baal Prophets. Yet, in this perfect place set up for God to show up; it pulled the drought out of Elijah. There was a drought in the land-but a greater drought in Elijah. But, then the presence of the Lord God Almighty passed by him in a whisper. And after the drought ends in the Man; the droughts end in the land. That same whisper is being spoken to every heart that will hear the gentle call of a loving Savior to bring you out of your dry places. The “drought is over"! Let the dry place you have been in, whatever the cause, now know the joy of Praising and Praying has returned. Isn’t it amazing to realize that the place where the drought began was a place of victory? The enemy always attacks the place where you defeat his intended defeat of you. Elijah went back to the place of defeat and prayed for rain. He asked for fire, he got it; he asked for rain, and he got it. Get in position of humbleness and pray. The Rain of Restoration, the Rain of Refreshening, the Rain of Revival, the Rain of Victory is yours for the taking TODAY! Be thankful. The drought is over. It is RAINING. Shalom
