"Embrace The Promise; Embrace The Wait"

Romans 4:20-21 (KJV): He staggered not at the promise of God through unbelief; but was strong in faith, giving to God, And being fully persuaded that, what He had promised, he was able to perform.

Waiting for something to change is quite an ordeal.  We are a society of wanting everything in microwave hurry. When the excitement of receiving that which is the
promise is so near; we feel the heat of it! And just like putting popcorn in a microwave oven, pushing a button, and in  2-3 minutes later (and that is even to long) we are satisfying our taste buds with melted butter and "yes," salt--the anticipation of the promise is like the delicious taste of hot popcorn.

Abraham was a man in scripture as well as Job whom were always used as examples of waiting. Job declared in the midst of his trials that he would just wait until his change would come (Job 14:14)--Bravo Job! Abraham, on the other hand, was promised a son (when he was 75), and received his promised son some 25 years later. What is the significance of this?

The key factor is that while they were both waiting, they had to
embrace the promise, embrace the wait. They had to center their hearts, focus upon what they were waiting for, and waiting
on.  Embrace in this sense means: to encircle; enclose; to clasp firmly; to grip hold of, to hold on to; to adopt and adapt to, whatever the plight might be.  Embracing means that you have chosen to hold firmly to that which you know good will come from it.

Wherever you are today, and whatever you are going through, embrace the matter whole heartedly with honesty and joy. And watch God move. Besides, every good cook knows that the best way to make good popcorn is the old fashioned way (the fun is shaking the pot until every kernel has been popped)! Think I will pop some :)

Embrace the promise, embrace the wait,
