Luke 22:31-32 (The Living Bible) "Simon, Simon, Satan has ask to have you, to sift you like wheat, but I have pleaded in prayer for you that your faith should not completely fail. So when you have repented and turned to me again, strengthen and build up the faith of your brothers." Strange thought for this text of scripture, but nevertheless full of power.
First, the enemy has to get permission to try any of his antics against the children of God. Second, permission will be granted to sift you. (Sifting process - to take you through the process of removing any in-pure-ness, and any thing that does not belong in the heart, mind, Will of God's Children). Third, Jesus said that when we go through the sifting process, the testing stage that He has already prayed that we would not lose our faith. We will be able to go through because He has prayed for us. Finally, that after we have repented and return to the Lord, that we would return to the Brethren and strengthen their faith. Peters intention, like ours, is to always please God. Like Peter, we will deny God’s presence in our lives in Word, thought, action, or deeds. In order to shift to the next place, only to be sifted again, we must confess our wrong doing and go back and help others. When we help others, the shift will come. The purpose of the sifting is to help us shift to the next place, a better, stronger, and wiser person, because we have helped someone through as Jesus has helped us, Shalom Living To Love And Serve
